5 Fun Ways to Boost Weight Loss (and No, Diet & Exercise Are Not on the List)

Ever been on a weight loss plan and it worked great for awhile, but then you got bored with the same old routine day after day?  I have!  So I came up with 5 easy tips that may inject a little fun into your program.

  1. Infuse Your Water
Drinking an adequate amount of water aids in weight loss, not only by making you feel full, but by burning more calories than you take in.  Studies have also shown that it increases metabolism.  But even though we know how good it is for us, sometimes it’s hard to get the recommended amount of water per day.  Infusing your water with fruits and herbs is a great way to add some flavor without many calories.  I like to add lemon, cucumber, mint and strawberries.  Not only does it taste good, but it looks pretty too.  You can get those nice, big, glass dispensers almost anywhere, and they also make water bottles with infusers.
  2. Make Your Meals a Ritual
When we are mindful and focus on enjoying our meals, we tend to eat slower, allowing our food to digest, and often leads to eating less.  We are more able to listen to our body, and tune into what it is telling us it needs for nutrition.  It disrupts unhealthy patterns due to stress or other types of emotional eating.  It allows a nice break where we can add beauty and gratitude in our day.
  3. Eat Healthy Foods Like Fruits and Vegetables First
Iʻve heard of people drinking a glass of water before their meal to feel more full, but I believe that drinking water with your meal should be avoided as it disrupts digestion.  To fill myself up on healthier choices, I do eat some fruit first for breakfast or a salad or vegetables first for lunch or dinner.  There are also enzymes in fresh fruit and vegetables that help digestion and absorption of nutrients.
  4. Find a Buddy
It is so much easier to stay on track when you are accountable to someone else.  Ideally, we should be able to make promises to ourselves and keep them, but unfortunately, thatʻs the first person we ignore many times.  Iʻve wanted to skip working out before, but because I gave someone my word I would be there, I was there.  Plus itʻs a lot more fun and having someone to support and motivate you definitely helps.
  5. Enjoy a Nice Cup of Cacao
We talked about eating mindfully, which helps us keep a check on our emotional binging.  I also like to drink a cup of cacao every day.  Cacao contains a mood enhancer that helps me to de-stress and manage my cravings.  It provides a healthy dose of antioxidants and also aids digestion.  Actually, anything that slows you down and cuts down your stress will aid digestion I think.  Cacao is a superfood, and it tastes good!  Make sure to get a high quality brand…of course I drink only Tavala Bru, it is by far the best!

Doing the same thing for any length of time can become dull.  Hope these tips help in some way or may inspire other ideas that will keep you motivated and on the path to better health and fitness <3

Tavala Trim for Pre-Workout and Fat Burning

Devin started out at 140 lbs (left) then dropped to around 128-130. Like many people who lose a lot of weight quickly with Tavala, he thought “ok, what now?” Losing more weight wasn’t really the answer, but he wasn’t completely happy with his body shape. He was what they call “skinny fat.” He kept using Tavala Trim for energy and as a pre-workout, and started lifting weights 4-5x a week. The Tavala Trim helped burn off excess fat and he added the Tavala protein shake to help build muscle. The result is the pic on the right. Although he’s still working on it, he’s happy with what Tavala and hard work have done so far.

Transform Your Body with Tavala’s Transformation Products

Tavala Transformation BoxDevin and I had been taking products from Tavala for about a year or so, and it helped us lose a few pounds and gave us great energy and focus.  Then this Transformation Challenge came up at the end of January and so I thought…I wonder what would happen if we really tried to take this to another level?  Tavala had just come out with their protein shake, so we added that into our regimen along with going back to working out.  Devin got serious right away (which is why he is much further along than I am), it took me maybe until the beginning of March to really jump on board and be disciplined about working out.  It’s been less than two months for me, and I really can’t believe the huge difference already.  I wish I had started earlier!  What’s really great is that the Tavala Trim works as a thermogenic and as a pre-workout…and it is an amazing appetite suppressant too.  I haven’t been really strict on my diet as I would like to be, but not being hungry all the time really helps to make better food choices.  The Tavala Protein Shake is perfect after workout…I just take one scoop which is about 15g protein, but Devin needs more protein since he’s trying to build muscle a lot more aggressively.  Tavala Control is perfect for leveling out my blood sugar, and keeps me from storing that extra sugar as fat.  It has helped a lot of people on our team get off their weight loss plateau, and more than a few have had big improvements in their blood sugar test results.

Eight years ago I used to eat super clean and worked out in the gym twice a day…and I have to say that I look about the same…without the struggle 🙂  Trying to put my limits, I plan on getting a little stricter the new few months…just to see what happens.  Stay tuned!
